Site theme updated

The website is in Shadowfell right now. Part lies in the new template, part lies undisturbed on ancient grounds.

My content management system is old and creaking. New content becomes harder to add each week.

There is so much content, all previous efforts at migrating to WordPress – or any other CMS – have failed.

I decided to bite the bullet and just get a little bite done while I had a wee bit of time. This lets me catch up on some GM interviews I need to post, plus a review plus some other bits and pieces. Then I pause while I work on the next ebook on my desk. It’s a killer topic, which I think you’ll enjoy, so stay tuned.

I recognise this theme, Johnn… infectious, isn’t it!? Good luck with the transition, I hope it works out for you. It will certainly make pingbacks and trackbacks to other blogs much easier…

Maybe we’ll get to see commenting on http://www.dvoidsystems.com or http://www.legendofzeldarpg.com at some point?

Hehe, the theme is nice. I like its simplicity. Not a lot of distraction, letting you focus on the content.

Isn’t it just – and wordpress is amazing for the actual amount of feedback and discussion it allows with such little work.

I just wish that I could get some comments on our websites. Got a few lurkers, but not much in the way of feedback, so it’s hard to see if we are going where people want us to go.

The change came as a bit of a shock, but it looks great! Kudos to you for taking the plunge :-)

Drop me an email if you need help converting things. I don’t have a lot of time these days, but since I helped contribute to your “creaking CMS” of the past, the least I can do is try to help you get content converted over. If I can find the time, I’m happy to lend assistance.

Thanks Gavin! I know it breaks best practices by changing the whole thing at once instead of doing incremental changes, but the site design pre-dated the first Bush administration! :)

“Best practices” are for you to decide…

I’m working for a major enterprise software company and you’d be horrified what some of our best practices are :-O

Simple theme makes it more readable and understandable. Congrats on your new theme. I should make mine simple too. Thanks for sharing this.
