What will the app work on?

Any modern browser on any device with an internet connection.

Can I install the logger on multiple computers/devices?

You can login from as many computers as you like. You can also share your login if you'd like your players to log too, but be aware they'll have access to all your notes. We have player-only features planned so your group can collaborate with you and help take session notes without seeing all your campaign secrets.

What game systems does Campaign Logger work with?

The GM tool is universal. You can use it for any game system and genre. You can change tag labels to suit any system or genre to be more on-theme, as well.

I want to give it to a friend. Not sure how to buy it as a gift though.... can you clarify that pls?

Thanks for your generosity! Please email [email protected] and I'll send you a special link.

Can I take the text I have for my current campaign and, after some formatting, import them?

The tool uses JSON format. I'm not sure how easy it would be to port your notes over. It would probably be easiest to paste them into the tool, then export, then do a search and replace to tag various words in a text editor, then import back into the tool. I've never tried this, though.

The JSON format is plain text. Here is an example:

[
{"rawText":"Some entry using a @"Character Tag" and a #"Location Tag" - both phrases instead of just one word.","timestamp":"Fri, 18 Dec 2015 19:49:27 GMT"},{"rawText":"Another entry without tags.","timestamp":"Fri, 18 Dec 2015 19:50:27 GMT"}
]

You can also use this tool to convert each line of text into a log entry:

I previously bought and was using MyInfo, and it has been great. Does this do more than MyInfo does for you? How does it compare?

MyInfo has more and deeper features. However, I created Campaign Logger because MyInfo, Evernote, and other software do not allow you to cross-link multiple things at once without manually grabbing document/note links. So I use Campaign Logger to make fast session notes.

For example, if I write that PC A spied on NPC B at Location C on a certain date, then in MyInfo that information will be in just one document unless I copy and paste it in several places.

But in the logger, you can scan PC A's notes, NPC B's notes, Location C's notes, or the notes under that particular date. And when you edit the log entry, all those references are instantly changed too, so all your notes are always up to date.
