My early feedback is it’s an awesome read. I already put a lot of thought into the realism and reason for my dungeons. Each of the earlier chapters gave me additional inspiration for making my preparation more robust.
The mid and later chapters were things I hadn’t thought of st all but will defo be including.
I always love how you tend to provide a framework which makes the concepts really easy to build into prep. I really enjoy how you cite existing publications and people (had to look up Jane Jacobs).

Hi Johnn,
Thanks for checking in. I already read it halfway through. Excellent content as usual, got me immediately excited to design a new dungeon!

Yes, I was able to download the standard pdf and the epub versions. Both seem great! Lots of good ideas, well organized.
The rolling tables help a lot. I'm quite happy with it.
By the way, are you in Alberta? The download suggested that.

I've downloaded it. I've only read roughly half of it but I'm finding it very thought provoking.
I'm enjoying it--it is certainly well worth the $7 spent!
It looks like I'll have a few days snowed in, thank to the winter storm weather, to read the rest.
Thanks for all the good work!
God bless.

Logical Dungeon Design: Tactical Cartography
A System for Creating Living, Breathing Dungeons That Make Sense and Generate Their Own Stories.
$15 USD
Beta launch sale. Format: PDF, Digest Size, 94 Pages.
A GM toolbox for game masters who want to stop drawing random squiggles and start building immersive, believable locations that challenge players and withstand scrutiny.
Logical Dungeon Design cures the Logic Bomb that explodes when players ask, "Why is there an ice room next to a lava chamber?"
This book gives you a repeatable system to create maps that feel ancient, lived-in, and real without requiring you to be a geologist or an architect.
It transforms static board game maps into dynamic environments that kick back when players kick down the doors.
Why Logical Dungeon Design?
- Eliminate Logic Bombs by using my 3 Age Timeline to ensure every tunnel, room, and ruin has a believable history and reason for existing.
- Create dynamic dungeon battlefields that break the telephone booth habit of 20'x20' rooms, giving you massive environments where monsters and player tactics can truly flex.
- Master the Jacquays Style on dungeon level creation that never play the same way twice, with practical techniques for loops, multiple entrances, hidden passages, and verticality that turn linear crawls into tactical raids.
- Make your dungeons kick back by replacing static monster lists with a living Wandering Encounter System that responds to player actions and alert levels.
- Establish a substrate of believability with my Dungeon Essentials Checklist that makes your dungeon ecology air-tight.
- Generate content instantly with 3d6 spark tables for entrances, hazards, secret passages, and map clues, and more.

- The 3 Age Timeline Method. A simple but powerful framework that stacks sources to instantly generate World Logic for any setting.

- Responsive Encounter Tables. Learn to build Alert Tables that change monster behavior based on the dungeon's DefCon status, making the environment feel intelligent and alive.
- Customizable Generators. Every major Jacquays concept includes a Roll 3d6 generator (Form, Complication, Pressure) to spark immediate ideas for your maps and sessions.
- Visual Design Tactics. Practical advice on using Sight Lines, Fog of War, and Verticality to challenge modern character sheets and abilities.
- System Neutral. While the concepts are rooted in classic dungeon crawling, the logic applies to any fantasy RPG system.
